(Chronicle Books, 2015), based on the
point of view of her French bulldog, Frank,
who also serves as the inspiration for
From Frank™, her greeting card and gift
company. The brainchild of Lafayette native
Smith, who combined Frank’s human-like
personality with her own quirky habit of
talking for him, the idea for the company
was born in 2008, and it launched in 2011.
What began as a line of witty greeting cards
just a few years ago has grown into a line
of products available in over 10,000 stores,
including wall calendars, journals, note
cards, stationery, mugs, dog bowls, wall
plaques and other room décor, 1000-piece
jigsaw puzzles, and even lottery tickets.
Making humans smile is Frank’s mission
in life—and he’s really good at it. With
his latest book, launched in August 2015,
Frank has gathered up his best friends, and
together they compiled their most tried-and-true tips, tricks, and advice for making
