JOHN SCHWENK (BA, History) became director
of international government relations at BAE
Systems, Inc., a global defense, security, and
aerospace company, in Arlington, VA.
MADAM CHIEF JUSTICE
LORETTA (HOGAN) RUSH (BA 1980,
History) was named the first female
chief justice of Indiana’s state Supreme
Court. She was first appointed to
the Indiana Supreme Court by then-governor Mitch Daniels in September
2012. Prior to that, Chief Justice Rush
served as Tippecanoe Superior Court 3
judge for 14 years, a court focused on
Children in Need of Services, criminal
and status offenses of juvenile cases,
guardianships, delinquencies, and
protective order hearings. She also
assisted with the creation of the
Tippecanoe County Court Appointed
Special Advocate (CASA) program.
Before being elected judge, she spent
15 years in general practice as an
associate and then partner at a Lafayette
firm. Chief Justice Rush continues to be
involved with advocacy for juveniles in
court, holding positions on numerous
juvenile-related committees in the state.
